Senior Linux Administrator (f/m/d)

What can you expect from us

  • You will be our Linux specialist working in an exciting and varied work environment
  • You will work in an established, medium-sized company in a central position and you will have the freedom to actively shape our company and our corporate culture with your skills and your personality

What will your responsibilities involve?

  • You take care of the sustainable commissioning and maintenance of IT operations - this includes configuration, monitoring of the infrastructure and services, etc.
  • You always keep an eye on our processes and take care of their optimisation and automation
  • You support the performance analysis and optimisation as well as the troubleshooting of incidents (e.g. 2nd lvl support, internally as well as in the customer environment).
  • Our user, software and licence management runs through you
  • You work closely with our software developers, product and scrum teams.
  • The documentation and implementation of audit requirements is part of your job
  • An important aspect for you is the further development of our IT architecture (container technologies, cloud stack, automation).

Your profile

  • Several years of professional experience in the administration of Linux systems, as well as knowledge in automation (Jenkins, Kubernetes, etc.).

  • Experience 

    with the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and optimisation of RedHat Enterprise Server products, version  7 + 8 (RHEL, Centos). This includes the design and sizing of the environments up to the implementation.
  • Extensive experience with standard Linux services (DNS, Apache, Crony, etc.) as well as web services (Jboss, Wildfly Middleware, Apache) 
  • Understand, read and write Bash Scripting (optional: Python, basic knowledge Golang) 
  • Knowledge of encryption technologies, especially TLS/SSL of web services 
  • Standard knowledge of reverse proxy concepts/architectures 
  • Knowledge of monitoring with (Zabbix/Icinga/ ELK Cluster) 
  • User management and authorisation management: with- IPA, LDAP, Kerberos 
  • Very good English skills (B2+/C1 level) , German skills would be a nice to have
  • Willingness for 2nd or 3rd level support with 
  • Experience in the following areas is an advantage but not a must: 
    • Knowledge of network analysis/troubleshooting. 
    • Container architectures (e.g. Docker, Docker compose, Kubernetes (K8s) 
    • Automation services and platforms (Ansible, Gitlab, Jenkins etc.), 
    • Documentation tools (e.g. Confluence) 
    • Version management (Git)  
    • User management and authorisation management: with- IPA, LDAP, Kerberos  
    • Knowledge of MS365, especially Azure AD
