Our goal is to continuously offer our customers innovative and value-adding solutions and to consolidate and expand our position as an expert in the field of software solutions for banks and fintechs. As Head of Software Engineering, you will play a key role in realising our vision. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, prioritisation, implementation and monitoring of software development projects. 
You will lead our development team of currently around 20 developers and will work closely with other departments to optimise our processes and take our product development to the next level. You are a confident thought leader with experience in and enthusiasm for agility and engineering effectiveness.

• Leading the engineering team and ensuring effective collaboration and communication within the team.
• You will develop optimal team compositions and work with your team to optimise software development processes within the company 
• You are a coach and mentor for your team members and support them in their continuous development. 
• Develop and implement long-term engineering strategies to achieve divisional and company goals
• Ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets and quality standards
• Identify new technologies, tools and methods that can improve the efficiency and performance of the engineering team
• Contributing to the introduction of modern technologies (such as AI and machine learning) to further develop our banking and fintech solutions

• Completed studies in computer science, software engineering or a similar technical discipline
• Proven experience as a developer/architect, preferably in Java
• Proven experience in leading and developing engineering teams, ideally in a FinTech environment
• Sound knowledge of software development and architecture, preferably with complex B2B or grown legacy products
• Experience in applying agile development methods such as Scrum, Kanban or Lean to maximise the efficiency and productivity of the engineering team
• Experience in implementing and adapting agile frameworks to the specific requirements and challenges of the organisation.
• Willingness to continuously gather feedback and improve the development process based on the results.
• Experience in training and supporting team members in the application of agile methods and practices.
